I'm trying out some new Black and White techniques. Which one do you like best?  When we do a black and white conversion from a digital file it’s not a matter of just sucking all the color out of an image.  It’s actually a very carefully crafted technique of adjusting different parts of the picture during the process.  It’s quite fun to hand alter an image into a black and white conversion!  The trick is working with the image to avoid muddy tones.  When we do black and white images for our clients we either shoot in black and white film, or hand alter each image to make sure it has the look of black and white film.  While it takes longer than just running an action I really believe it makes all the difference in the world.
